            Softball Recap: Kamiak Knights vs. Burlington-Edison Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Kamiak lost to Burlington-Edison  on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Kamiak came out on top against Burlington-Edison by a score of  6-1.
 Synclair Mawudeku was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Emma Stansfield, who  fired off two  home runs and four  RBI while going 2-for-4. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high.
 Kamiak  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.

Kamiak now  has a winning record of 5-4. As for Burlington-Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Coming up, Kamiak will challenge Mariner at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Kamiak is facing Mariner at the right time seeing as Mariner is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Burlington-Edison, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  an  11-1  loss against Stanwood on the 29th.
