Baseball Game Preview: Holliston Panthers vs. Bellingham Blackhawks

The Holliston Panthers will head out to take on the Bellingham Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Holliston has three straight wins, Bellingham has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Holliston had just enough and edged out Medway 5-3. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly two runs.

Logan Brewster looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ty Bosselman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bellingham didn't have quite enough to beat Ashland on Friday and fell 2-1.

Payton Young was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Holliston's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bellingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
