Basketball Game Preview: Hume Hornets vs. Wheatland Mules

Having just played yesterday, the Hume Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Wheatland Mules at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hume has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with seven straight losses, while Wheatland will come in with five straight victories.

On Wednesday, Hume had to suffer through a 68-33 loss at the hands of Drexel.

Meanwhile, Wheatland was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Niangua 70-32. The Mules have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Wheatland has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Hume, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Hume took a serious blow against Wheatland when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 58-25. Can Hume avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
