Baseball Recap: Vanoss' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Sayre typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Vanoss proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 5-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cole Reeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hershel Sanders, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Caleb Treat, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Vanoss' victory bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Sayre, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-10.

As of now, neither Vanoss nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
