Volleyball Recap: East Carteret Comes Up Short + How To Watch

East Carteret lost against Pamlico County on September 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mariners lost 3-0 to the Hurricanes. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While East Carteret was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Pamlico County's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-19, 25-20.

Skyler Bordeaux paced East Carteret's offense, picking up seven kills. Bordeaux got some help from Kolby Piner and her 20 assists. Grayson Gillikin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pamlico County had a senior duo take command as Dakota Schmidt had 19 assists and two aces and Hayley Shamblin had 12 digs. Schmidt has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more assists the last 11 times she's played.

East Carteret now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Pamlico County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
