Basketball Recap: Checotah's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Checotah can bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Poteau Pirates by a score of 47-38. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Pirates back in December of 2024, they had to take a 47-39 defeat.

Checotah's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-15. As for Poteau, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Checotah will venture away from home to take on Stilwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poteau, they will welcome Sallisaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
