Basketball Recap: Grayson Bauer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mullen over Grandview

Mullen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Grandview Wolves, falling 76-53. The Mustangs were down 68-36 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mullen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Bauer, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Bauer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Driscoll, who earned 12 points.

Leading Grandview to victory were Trevor Thomas and Noah Sevy. Thomas dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards, while Sevy went 6 for 8 on his way to 18 points. Thomas' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breven Anderson, who scored 12 points.

Mullen's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Grandview, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-8.

Mullen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-48 defeat against Smoky Hill on the 31st. As for Grandview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-54 victory against Arapahoe on the 31st.
