 The North Star Cougars will face off against the Redbank Valley Bulldogs on Thursday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (North Star: 2.4, Redbank Valley: 3) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 North Star is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Monday. They walked away with  a   5-2  win over Serra Catholic. The  victory was nothing new for North Star as they're now sitting on three straight.
  Cayden Turner made a splash no matter where he played. He  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Turner was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and a  triple.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Braden Livingston, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Redbank Valley entered their tilt with Burgettstown with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They won by a  run and slipped past the Blue Devils  5-4. That's two games straight that Redbank Valley has won by  just one  run.
  Mason Clouse was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 North Star has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 13 of their last 15 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record  this season. As for Redbank Valley, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-6.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Star has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.4  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Redbank Valley struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.1. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
