Basketball Recap: McCollum Takes a Loss

McCollum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-47 to the South San Antonio Bobcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-38 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Ethan Moreno, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 19 rebounds for South San Antonio. Moreno's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kaleb Vargas was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

McCollum's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for South San Antonio, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

McCollum will take on MacArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for South San Antonio, they will face off against Southwest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
