Baseball Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short

Glendale extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 3-15. They lost 17-2 to the Williamsburg Biue Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Biue Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

As for Williamsburg, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Williamsburg's part, Andrew Clark and Nolan Carper did most of the damage at the plate: Clark got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Carper went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Carper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clayton McGregor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Glendale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy on the 11th. Williamsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
