Volleyball Recap: Atkins Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Atkins was the 3-0 winner over Lexington Senior when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Camels came up short against the Yellowjackets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Camels fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Yellowjackets since Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-15.

Ja'Nique Linder paced Atkins' offense, picking up two kills. Linder got some help from Lily Anderson and her two assists. Finally, Maddison Davis kept Atkins' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Atkins and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Lexington Senior, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Atkins has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Surry Central on the 27th. As for Lexington Senior, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Thomasville on the 27th.
