Recap: Dakota Ridge Eagles vs. Green Mountain Rams
The Dakota Ridge Eagles waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 46-41 victory over Green Mountain. For Dakota Ridge, this counts as revenge for the 63-26 loss Green Mountain walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dakota Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maryn Talyat, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Talyat has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Galbreath, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Green Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julia Schafer. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Schafer also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Grace Herrig was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Dakota Ridge pushed their record up to 7-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Green Mountain, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Dakota Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Evergreen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Evergreen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Green Mountain, they will be playing at home against Littleton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Littleton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
