Football Recap: Key West Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Key West can now relate to. They were beaten by the Northwestern Bulls 56-6 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, the Conchs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northwestern found their leader in sophomore Neiman Lawrence, who threw for 251 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Lawrence is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Nicholas Lennear also helped with two scores in total.

Key West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Northwestern, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Key West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulls 7, the Rockets 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
