Basketball Recap: Theodore Richardson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boyd Anderson over Dillard

Boyd Anderson lost against Dillard back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boyd Anderson Cobras fell to the Dillard Panthers 52-48. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cobras came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Panthers are ranked 438th).

Boyd Anderson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Theodore Richardson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Niteno Pierre, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Boyd Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Dillard, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Boyd Anderson will square off against Coconut Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Coconut Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Dillard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northwestern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Dillard likes a good challenge.
