Baseball Recap: Eagle Wins Going Away Against Flowing Wells

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle). They were the clear victor by a 22-2 margin over the Flowing Wells Caballeros on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Carson Bowers made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bowers was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Eagle let Jack Swanstrom and Kristian Fusco run wild. Swanstrom went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, while Fusco scored four runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Swanstrom a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Ford, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Eagle and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Flowing Wells, they dropped their record down to 3-5-1 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Eagle will challenge Tucson High Magnet School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Flowing Wells has already played their next game (against Rio Rico), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
