Basketball Recap: Upperman Falls Short Against Ranked White County

On Tuesday, Upperman faced White County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Upperman Bees took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White County Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-33 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Winningham, who posted 13 points and eight boards. What's more, Winningham also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Ava Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six blocks and five rebounds.

Upperman's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for White County, they pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Upperman will square off against Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for White County, they will challenge Livingston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
