Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 60-18 loss at the hands of the Navajo Pine Warriors. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Navajo Pine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikayla Baker, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Baker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Dawes, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Navajo Pine, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pine Hill the next time they take the court. Navajo Pine will head out to face Pine Hill at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st, while Northwest will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
