Baseball Recap: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. Stoneman Douglas Eagles
True North Classical Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged the Stoneman Douglas Eagles out 1-0 on Thursday.
Alan Soler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, he also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, True North Classical Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Cedeno, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Another was Misael Uriepero, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Stoneman Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. True North Classical Academy will challenge NSU University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
