Sherrard is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Rockridge is on a 16-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sherrard 3.2, Rockridge 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sherrard's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Orion as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Savanah Hauger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Hauger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sherrard let Nadia Anderson and Makenzy Moran run wild. Anderson went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Moran went 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles Moran has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Danni Neppl, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Sherrard hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rockridge beat Riverdale 7-4 on Monday.
Taylor Dieterich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Estellah Bognar was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Emilee Black was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Sherrard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Rockridge, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Both Sherrard and Rockridge just can't seem to miss. The Tigers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Rockridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits.
