Basketball Preview: Miami Valley Rams vs. Spring Valley Academy
Miami Valley is on a four-game streak of home losses, the a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Miami Valley Rams will take on Spring Valley Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Saturday, Miami Valley had to suffer through a rough 70-21 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Miami Valley in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
Miami Valley's defeat came about despite a quality game from Preslei Copper, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 85.7% of Miami Valley's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley Academy ended up a good deal behind the last Thursday and lost 43-26. While losing is never fun, Spring Valley Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 741st in Ohio, while the are ranked 332nd in Michigan).
Miami Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Spring Valley Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Miami Valley strolled past the when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 49-30. Will Miami Valley repeat their success, or do the have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
