Recap: Homedale Trojans vs. Fruitland Grizzlies
The Homedale Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-35 walloping at the hands of Fruitland. Homedale lost against Fruitland in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-31 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Homedale had strong showings from Tiana Sorenson, who scored 14 points, and Olivia Asumendi, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierstley Roseborough, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Homedale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Fruitland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Homedale will be home for the holidays to greet Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Caldwell is ranked 112th, while Homedale is ranked 102nd). As for Fruitland, they will head out on the road to face off against Payette at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
