Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Coachella Valley entered their contest against Xavier Prep on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs fell just short of the Xavier Prep Saints by a score of 68-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (65), the Mighty Arabs still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, Coachella Valley got some senior leadership from Israel Garcia and Franky Aguirre. Garcia posted 23 points, while Aguirre had 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Beltran, who earned six points.

Coachella Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Xavier Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Coachella Valley and Palo Verde Valley will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Xavier Prep, they will be taking part in a tournament against Stevenson at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
