Volleyball Game Preview: Deming Wildcats vs. Silver Fighting Colts

The Deming Wildcats will challenge the Silver Fighting Colts at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Deming came up short against Chaparral and fell 3-1.

Deming was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Chaparral work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 26-28, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Silver faced Santa Teresa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Fighting Colts put the hurt on the Desert Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Colts.

While Silver won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

Silver's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Deming, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Deming came up short against Silver in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
