Soccer Game Preview: American Canyon vs. Casa Grande

American Canyon hasn't had much luck against Casa Grande recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The American Canyon Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Casa Grande Gauchos at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Two weeks ago, American Canyon might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Maria Carrillo an easy 6-1 victory. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Wolves were already down 6-1.

Their goal came courtesy of Damian Martinez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Casa Grande fell victim to Ukiah and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Gauchos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 760th, while the Wildcats are ranked 52nd).

American Canyon now has a losing record at 3-4-2. As for Casa Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

American Canyon might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Casa Grande in their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
