Baseball Recap: Windermere Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Windermere had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Olympia Titans by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Titans back in March, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Xavier Roman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Diego Rodriguez was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Sebastian Vargas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Windermere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympia only posted an OBP of .296.

Windermere is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Olympia, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-16.

As of now, neither Windermere nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
