Basketball Recap: Maquoketa Valley Piles Up the Points Against Starmont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maquoketa Valley). They claimed a resounding 74-34 win over the Starmont Stars. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Maquoketa Valley pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.6 points. As for Starmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Maquoketa Valley will head out on the road to challenge Springville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Springville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three games. As for Starmont, they will challenge West Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
