Avalon is  a perfect 7-0 against St. Anselm's Abbey since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Black Knights will challenge the Panthers at 4:00  p.m. Avalon will be strutting in after a  win while St. Anselm's Abbey will be coming in after a  loss.
Having struggled with six  defeats in a row, Avalon  turned things around against Burke  on Tuesday. They walked away with  an   8-5  victory over the Bengals.
 Avalon got a big performance out of  Micah Owonu, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave  Owonu a new career-high in  RBI (three).  Ethan Stepanik also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Anselm's Abbey has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four  runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit  on Tuesday. They fell just short of Field by a score of  10-8. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Connor Paletta was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having  posted two or more  stolen bases the last three times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alex Farmer, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases.
 Avalon's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Avalon has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.8  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Anselm's Abbey struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.6  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Avalon took their  victory against St. Anselm's Abbey  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2019 by a conclusive  8-1 score. Do  the Black Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
