Baseball Recap: Lawrence County Find Success

Lawrence County won the last time they faced Buckhorn and things went their way on Friday too. The Lawrence County Red Devils came out on top against the Buckhorn Bucks by a score of 6-3.

Parker Frost made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Frost was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

In other pitching news, Tucker Legg looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Newton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Buckhorn, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

The future could be bright for both Lawrence County and Buckhorn: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lawrence County will try to hand Brooks their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Buckhorn will look to extend Westminster Christian Academy's five-game losing streak when they meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
