Baseball Recap: Marquette Falls Short Against Ranked Eureka

Marquette faced Eureka in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mustangs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-2 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Marquette's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Eureka, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

While Marquette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
