Football Recap: Keyport/Hudson Regional Takes a Loss

Keyport/Hudson Regional extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were dealt a 47-16 defeat at the hands of the Barnegat Bengals. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Bengals from their previous meeting back in October of 2018.

As for Barnegat, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the matchup before.

Jack Haviland went supernova, rushing for 127 yards and three scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 145 yards on only ten passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Esteban Babilonia also helped with two TDs in total.

Keyport/Hudson Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barnegat, they will host Allentown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bengals will be up against the Redbirds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.89 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
