Basketball Recap: Brookville Comes Up Short

Brookville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 42-25 bruising from the Heritage Pioneers. The Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddie Cole, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Cole a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tailor Coles, who scored eight points and seven rebounds.

Brookville's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Heritage, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-9.

Brookville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-28 defeat against Rustburg on the 28th. Heritage has also already played their next matchup, an 82-57 loss against Jefferson Forest on the 28th.
