Basketball Recap: South View Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jalen Mills and Jamaal Brown + How To Watch

South View made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lumberton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 45-43 on Wednesday. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, South View had strong showings from Jamaal Brown, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and five assists, and Jalen Mills, who shot 54% from the field to rack up 18 points and three steals. Mills is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nathaniel Williams also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

South View has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Lumberton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South View will host Gray's Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
