Football Recap: Mcgregor Falls Despite Big Games from Dominic Madron and Bubba Zacharias

McGregor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the West Trojans, falling 45-21. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 56-14 to the Trojans when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McGregor's loss came despite strong showings from Bubba Zacharias and Dominic Madron. Zacharias rushed for 32 yards and three scores, while Madron picked up 123 receiving yards. Madron's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 receiving yards dating back to last season.

McGregor's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGregor will host Gatesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West, they will challenge Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
