Volleyball Recap: Oswego Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Oswego challenged Joliet West on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Oswego started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-10, 25-22.

Joliet West was led to victory by Eden Eyassu and Lola Berta. Eyassu had 20 digs and two assists, while Berta had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Eyassu has posted since back in September.

With the defeat, Oswego broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-13. As for Joliet West, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-3 record this season.

Oswego didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Joliet Central on the 23rd. As for Joliet West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Romeoville on the 23rd.
