Preview: Sandhills/Thedford Knights vs. Burwell Longhorns
The Sandhills/Thedford Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Burwell Longhorns on Thursday. Sandhills/Thedford is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Even though Sandhills/Thedford has not done well against South Loup recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Sandhills/Thedford came out on top against South Loup by a score of 50-39.
After soaring to a 27-point victory in their last game, Burwell came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Arcadia/Loup City by a score of 49-47.
Sandhills/Thedford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Burwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Sandhills/Thedford against Burwell in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 74-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandhills/Thedford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
