Softball Recap: Tremont Comes Up Short

Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs. That's two games in a row now that the Turks have lost by exactly five runs.

Genesis Stuber was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Ava Berry, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Tremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

Tremont's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Tremont will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will host Delavan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
