Basketball Game Preview: Central Kitsap Cougars vs. North Kitsap Vikings

Central Kitsap hasn't had much luck against North Kitsap recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Central Kitsap Cougars will take on the North Kitsap Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Central Kitsap is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Mount Tahoma.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Kitsap). They snuck past Kingston with a 77-71 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

North Kitsap's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Central Kitsap, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Central Kitsap took a serious blow against North Kitsap when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 94-50. Can Central Kitsap avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
