Basketball Recap: Beth Haven Bearcats vs. Ballard Bruins
The Beth Haven Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ballard. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Beth Haven's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Harris, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Harris has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Michael Ray Stinnett was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Beth Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Ballard, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beth Haven will take on the at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ballard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doss will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Bruins are ranked 89th).
