The St. Johns Redskins will square off against the Round Valley Elks at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Johns barely beat Mogollon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redskins put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Kaylee Pulsipher was incredible, going 3-for-4 with seven stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kelsey Scarbrough was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
St. Johns hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Round Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 19-4 victory.
Carla Arreola was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kelci Walker was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taizly Newman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Round Valley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for St. Johns, their record now sits at 19-5.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Johns has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .499. However, it's not like Round Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Johns was able to grind out a solid win over Round Valley in their previous matchup back in March, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redskins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
