Softball Recap: Pecos Eagles vs. Seminole Indians

Pecos extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 9-21 in the process. They came up short against the Seminole Indians, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

Brooke G was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Carriz Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Seminole, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Seminole's side, Zoey Teichroeb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Teichroeb has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sunni Casarez was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Nola Seay was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As of now, neither Pecos nor Seminole have any future games scheduled.
