Raytown waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They escaped with a win against the Washington Wildcats by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56.

Washington lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Antrell Wren, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Savion Stone was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 15 points.

Raytown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Washington, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Raytown Bluejays duke it out with the Ruskin Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. The timing is sure in Raytown's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Ruskin has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Washington has already played their next game (against Lee's Summit), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
