Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Lions vs. Natomas Nighthawks

The Liberty Lions will take on the Natomas Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Liberty sitting on 11 straight victories and Natomas on six.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Liberty against Deer Valley as the team secured a 95-28 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Natomas blew past Woodland, posting a 71-40 victory. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Wolves are ranked 1057th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Natomas is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Liberty, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
