Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Cactus Shadows

Cactus Shadows proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Arcadia Titans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted against the Titans since October 28, 2015.

Cactus Shadows had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 22-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-10.

Karease Broeker paced Cactus Shadows' offense, picking up 22 kills. Broeker got some help from Mateja Cousins and her 49 assists. Finally, Broeker was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Cactus Shadows' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Arcadia, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cactus Shadows will square off against Combs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arcadia, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against ALA - Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m.
