Volleyball Recap: Olivia Frank and Rachel Mcclellan Secure Win for Glendale

While Glendale's win against Ferndale wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets on Monday.

Glendale took Ferndale into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-20, 23-25, 16-14.

Leading Glendale to victory were Rachel McClellan and Olivia Frank. McClellan had 28 kills, 14 digs, and four aces, while Frank had 23 digs and 14 kills. McClellan has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Matish, who had 20 assists and 13 digs.

Glendale's win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 13-13-1. As for Ferndale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Glendale will head out to challenge Curwensville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ferndale, they will venture away from home to take on Conemaugh Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
