Juniata Valley skates past Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy with ease

The Juniata Valley Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy 101-47 at home. Juniata Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Juniata Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Mattas, who scored 35 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mattas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Connor Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.

Juniata Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juniata Valley will face off against Curwensville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Greenwood will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
