Softball Recap: Denver North Vikings vs. Aurora Central Trojans
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver North). They were the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over the Aurora Central Trojans on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 15 runs.
Xavia Escobedo made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Escobedo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Denver North got a massive performance out of Jesalee Barela, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The last time Barela's batting average was this high was back in October of 2023. Michaloni Pittman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
