Baseball Recap: Cypress Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Cypress Park duked it out with Cypress Springs on Tuesday. The Tigers walked away with a 6-3 win over the Panthers. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 9-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Chris Vizcaino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaxsen LeCompte was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Salda?a, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

LeCompte wasn't the only one making solid contact: Cypress Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.

With the victory, Cypress Park broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-16. As for Cypress Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Cypress Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cypress Springs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
