Football Game Preview: Liberty Redhawks vs. Memorial Warriors

Liberty has gone a perfect 3-0 against Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Redhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Liberty is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Denison on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Redhawks were beaten by the Yellow Jackets 47-17.

Meanwhile, Memorial lost to Denison at home by a 41-23 margin two weeks ago.

Liberty will have to contain Landon Diehl as he made an impact in Memorial's last game. He picked up 121 receiving yards and one TD. Diehl was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 53 yards.

Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Liberty's way against Memorial in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Liberty made off with a 28-7 victory. Will the Redhawks repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
