Baseball Recap: Ridgeline Wins Going Away Against Weber

Ridgeline made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Weber, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ridgeline Riverhawks were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the Weber Warriors on Tuesday. This was payback for the Riverhawks, who suffered an 8-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tyson Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was even better at the plate, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other pitching news, Easton Hammond looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Cooper Clark was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maddux Jensen, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Ridgeline now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Ridgeline will challenge Cedar at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Weber, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Clearfield on the 12th.
