Baseball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Nodaway Valley Wolverines, falling 14-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Nodaway Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Wayne will square off against Centerville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Big Reds/Redettes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.58 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nodaway Valley, they will take on Earlham at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of.
